Update the firmware first
Some of these problems were fixed or improved in a firmware update. If you see one, install the latest firmware before you pay for a repair.
Error 70 and blank viewfinder (fixed in firmware 1.2.0)
moderateCanon's firmware 1.2.0 for the R50 fixes Error Code 70 when you shoot in A+ mode or with AI Focus AF. It also fixes a rare fault where the image stops showing in the viewfinder or on the screen and the camera stops working.
