Update the firmware first
Some of these problems were fixed or improved in a firmware update. If you see one, install the latest firmware before you pay for a repair.
Movies not recorded, restarts and lost timecode (fixed in firmware 1.03)
moderateSony's firmware 1.03 for the a6700 fixes three issues: some movies weren't recorded under certain shooting conditions, the camera could restart when many faces were recognized at once during movie shooting, and timecode wasn't always kept after a power restart.
Overheating during long video recording
moderateSony says the a6700 heats up as you keep shooting video, especially at the image sensor, and turns itself off when it gets too hot. Sony's own figures for 4K 60p: about 5 minutes of continuous recording with Auto Power OFF Temp. on Standard, or about 30 minutes on High at 25°C (77°F) and 10 minutes at 40°C (104°F). HD runs about 120 minutes. If it stops, leave it off for a while before you record again.
