Apple iPhone 15 Pro: Known Problems

Apple designs the batteries in iPhone 15 models to keep 80% of their original capacity at 1000 complete charge cycles. If you're charging more and more often, Apple says it might be time to service the battery.

Apple says a dirty or damaged charging port can trigger the "accessory not supported" alert, and its steps for an iPhone that won't charge include removing any debris from the port.

In the days after the iPhone 15 launched, some owners complained their phones ran unusually hot. Apple said it had found a bug in iOS 17, said the iPhone 15 Pro's titanium design wasn't to blame, and fixed it in iOS 17.0.3 in October 2023. If yours runs hot, check you're on iOS 17.0.3 or later.

After the iPhone 15 models launched, there were sporadic reports of severe screen burn-in. Apple's iOS 17.1 notes list a fix for an issue that may cause display image persistence, and MacRumors reports it was a software problem that mimicked burn-in. Update before paying for a new screen.

Apple rates the iPhone 15 Pro IP68 to a depth of 6 metres for up to 30 minutes, but says the resistance isn't permanent and might decrease with normal wear. Liquid damage isn't covered under warranty.
