Charging stops from a dirty port
minorApple says a dirty or damaged charging port can trigger the "accessory not supported" alert, and its steps for an iPhone that won't charge include removing any debris from the port.
Random freezes and restarts (fixed in iOS 18.1)
moderateAfter launch, some iPhone 16 models, the 16 Pro included, froze and rebooted at random: the screen stopped responding or got very slow to respond, then the phone restarted. Apple confirmed iOS 18.1 fixes it, so update before paying for a repair.
Touch screen briefly unresponsive (fixed in iOS 18.0.1)
minorApple's iOS 18.0.1 notes list a fix for the touch screen being temporarily unresponsive in certain circumstances on iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro models. The update came out in October 2024.
Water resistance wears off
moderateApple rates the iPhone 16 Pro IP68 to a depth of 6 metres for up to 30 minutes, but says the resistance isn't permanent and might decrease with normal wear. Liquid damage isn't covered under warranty.
